Pistons Then Pedals is a passion project created by an automobile enthusiast who found bicycling.

One decade ago, I was living in Scottsdale, Arizona, and wanted to save money on commuting expenses. My office job was about 6 miles away and I knew there had to be a better way for me. 

Despite having no bicycling experience, I found a quiet suburban route which also followed a greenbelt. I quickly fell in love with the experience. My weight dropped along with my fuel expenses. 

I was hooked. 

Ten years later, I’ve been through multiple jobs, multiple cities in the Phoenix metro area, and multiple bicycles. However, I remain just as passionate about the opportunities provided by all forms of transportation.

My intention is to share my enthusiasm, encourage others, and create a community which welcomes enthusiasts from other walks of life.
